The campuses of Lakehead University, a research university in Ontario, Canada, are located in Thunder Bay and Orillia. Non-denominational Lakehead University (also known as LU) is supported by the provincial government. The institution houses the western campus of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine in addition to teaching graduate and undergraduate courses and housing the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law, the only internationally accredited (AACSB) business school in northern Ontario.
There are around 45,000 alumni of the university. A little under 7,900 students attend the Thunder Bay campus. A new permanent expansion site in Orillia, located roughly 150 kilometers (93 km) north of Toronto, has over 1,400 students by September 2006.

Non-Canadian students who are transferring from an overseas institution or university or who entered Lakehead University after completing a recognised high school programme.
